Atomic Firefly: Creative Arts Workshop 1

Starts Monday, January 27 - Ends Monday, April 28
Teen Workshop (Age 12 - 18) - Mondays 1:00 - 4:00pm
Adult Workshop (Age 19+) - Mondays 5:00 - 8:00pm

Class Description
Utilizing masterworks in Visual Arts which influence Western culture, such as architecture, art, photography, graphic design, interior and landscape design, (with a dash of poetry, literature, music, movies, films, and more), we will use a weekly biblical theme and prompt to launch inspiring exercises, discussions, and engagements in personal creative expressions in art, photography, and more. A final public showcase encourages participants to present their most compelling work at the end of each workshop timeframe. Age appropriate content adjustments are made for Teen workshops.

Class repeats every 3rd week

Pottery 1 and Pottery 2 are taught at the same time during each class.
Students must take Pottery 1 before taking Pottery 2.

Class Description
Basic Intro to clay - various techniques and skill developments used to produce pottery works - pinch pots, planters, coasters, coil pots and a functional cup. Pottery 2 produces a soap tray, breakfast plate and fun cover jar.

Class Description
Basic intro to clay - using various techniques, tools and skill development, starting with a simple planter, coasters, coil pot and fryboat. Pottery 2 produces a coffee mug and plate, choice of cover jar or set of 4 mugs.

Sewing

Students will choose from a variety of projects, while learning to sew
Teacher will contact you to schedule start date.
Cost: $48 each class
Materials included in the cost of each class
Cash or check due at beginning of each class.
Class Description
Student will learn sewing basics including use of the sewing machine, threading the machine, winding bobbins, various machine settings, using basic sewing tools including mats, rulers, marking tools, the rotary cutter, scissors. They will learn about fabric types, grain lines, seam allowances and measuring. Students will also learn about patchwork piecing, placing pockets, lining and strap making.
